Toppers recognized for outstanding season

State semi-finalist Science Hill collected many district and regional honors for their outstanding performance this season setting a school record with 21 victories. Besides being recognized as a top competitor in the state and nation in high school soccer for the 2014 spring season, the Toppers placed several players on the 2014 All-Big 7 and 2014 All-Region 1-AAA Soccer teams as announced on Thursday. The ‘Topper took three of the top Big 7 awards and four of the top five Region 1-AAA honors.

Lucas Altman was named Region 1-AAA Player of the Year and the Big 7 Conference Forward of the Year. Coach Brandon Kind received was named Coach of the Year for the conference and region.

Grayson Garland earned Conference Goalkeeper of the Year honors.
John Huffman was named as the Region 1-AAA Offensive Player of the Year 
John Lucchesi was named as the Region 1-AAA Defensive Player of the Year.
